One resident in a town outside of Atlanta has requested a smoking ban in Smyrna, Ga.’s parks, something the City Council formally heard last night in the form of a drafted proposal.

It’s unclear when the next formal action on the matter will take place, but neighboring towns in Cobb County have passed similar and some times more expansive measures.

Smyrna has a population over 50,000 and is located less than 15 miles northwest of Atlanta.
