This marks a major change for La Aurora, which was distributed in the U.S. by Miami Cigar & Co. for roughly three decades.

For its 120th anniversary, La Aurora has crafted a Dominican puro that will be offered in four sizes.

The Hors d’Age 2021 was rolled in 2021 using tobacco that had already been aged for a dozen years. It will be shown off next week and ship to stores in March.

Two days late and a dollar short, it’s time to think about some big storylines for the cigar industry in 2023.

Shortly before his death in 2009, Fernando León Asensio led La Aurora to experiment with growing tobacco in Bonao, Dominican Republic. Nearly 15 years later, some of that tobacco is being used on a cigar that honors what would be his 100th birthday.

Effective April 1, 2023, La Aurora will distribute its cigars in the U.S. through its own distribution company. Today’s announcement does not affect Tatiana, which will continue to be made by La Aurora and sold by Miami Cigar & Co.

La Aurora has only one new cigar for this year’s trade show. It is of no surprise it is a lancero.
