Before announcing the release of the Tatuaje Black Label Lancero as a limited edition for New Jersey and New York, Pete Johnson indicated the Tatuaje Cohete will be making a return in 2013. The 4 x 50 Cohete was a 2006 release for Tower Pipes & Cigars, released in a year that also saw the La Maravilla and original Bombazo.

A Twitter user mentioned the lack of Cohete and Johnson replied, “you’re killing me. I thought I told you 2013.” The full conversation is below:

Johnson told halfwheel he was, “still working on it.”

2013 will be the tenth anniversary of Tatuaje, and Johnson has publicly stated in the past he will be bringing back certain cigars, namely the Black Label Corona Gorda and his personal versions of the Brown Label line, for 2013. The Bombazo, a release for Dion Giolito’s FUMARE, was rereleased this year in the form of the Tatuaje Bombazo Capa Especial.

The original 2006 versions of La Maravilla, Cohete and Bombazo can be seen below.

I am an editor and co-founder of halfwheel.com/Rueda Media, LLC. I previously co-founded and published TheCigarFeed, one of the two predecessors of halfwheel. I have written about the cigar industry for more than a decade, covering everything from product launches to regulation to M&A. In addition, I handle a lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff here at halfwheel. I enjoy playing tennis, watching boxing, falling asleep to the Le Mans 24, wearing sweatshirts year-round and eating gyros. echte liebe.
