J. Fuego Adds Originals Size to Connoisseur Line, Targets May Release

Jesus Fuego’s yet-to-be-shipped Connoisseur line is getting a new addition, Fuego’s popular Original size. The 5 x 44 modified Cheroot-size will be the fourth size to the line Fuego announced in March. The line uses an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper from Oliva Tobacco Company over a Mexican San Andrés Ligero binder and Corojo fillers from Brazil, Honduras and Nicaragua. Fuego told halfwheel the binder is the youngest tobacco used in the blend, with six years of age.

“(I) Just wanted to make something very classy and very simple,” said Fuego. “(I) Tried it in 15 different sizes and went with these four.”

Fuego announced the Classique (6 x 50), Corpulent (5 x 60) and Gran Robusto (5 1/2 x 54) would come in boxes of 12 and retail at $10.00 per cigar, details he confirmed to halfwheel earlier this evening.

Earlier, he tweeted the above picture of the Connoisseur Originals. Pricing will be $4.00 and the cigar will come in boxes of 15. This is the fifth blend J. Fuego has offered the Originals in following the Origen, Origen Maduro, Reserva Corojo No. 1 and Sangre de Toro.

Originally the Connoisseur line was announced as a “mid-April” release, Fuego told halfwheel the release is currently three weeks away.
