E.P. Carrillo has created an exclusive sampler for online retailer Bespoke Post, in partnership with men’s lifestyle magazine Men’s Journal, and it features three of the company’s established blends and a fourth cigar that is shrouded in mystery.

The sampler was advertised in the December 2013 issue of Men’s Journal, and the link to the offer indicates that the sampler has sold out. In addition to the four cigars, it contains a reclaimed wood ashtray from Europe 2 You, a Glenfiddich-branded cigar cutter, Commonwealth Cedar Spills and a candle from Bespoke Post.

According to Bob Moreno, vp of sales for E.P. Carrillo, the sampler contains four different cigars: an Inaugural, Limitada, Cardinal and an unbanded special blend.  In the ad, Bespoke Post describes the cigars as being “custom made for us by the OG of the cigar world,” while the site features a picture of the sampler, which includes the E.P. Carrillo Edición Limitada 2013. Moreno did not disclose how many samplers were produced, nor was it available through Bespoke Post.

The sampler was first seen on November 5th, when Boveda posted a picture of it to their Twitter account.

EP Carrillo Bespoke Post Churchill Sampler

The sampler is dubbed the “Churchill” and is part of Bespoke Post’s monthly “Box of Awesome” program, where the site crafts packages around certain themes. Previous boxes have centered around dopp kits, food, tequila,  shoe care and winter accessories. It is listed with an MSRP of $100 but a price of $45. However, it is listed as being sold out, though Bespoke Post indicates that similar boxes may become available. The box is scheduled to officially become available on December 1.

Update (December 4, 2013) — The Bespoke Post Churchill sampler is back online with some additional information, and what appears to be a different mix of cigars than what was originally included. The company has added a bit more description to the cigars available, which is posted here:

Edición Limitada 2013, Original Variant

This is the top of the line from E.P. Carrillo — which is saying a lot. With a San Andres wrapper and incredibly fine tobacco rolled inside, it’s a full-bodied smoke that’s deceptively smooth.

Edición Limitada 2013, Unreleased Variant

This is the same blend as the Edición Limitada 2013, but with a natural Ecuadorian wrapper so that you can see how greatly the flavor is re-shaped. It’s an unreleased special edition that’s only available at E.P. Carillo company events, and now we’re bringing it to you.

Inaugural Limitada 2009

An experimental wrapper leaf — a limited-edition hybrid of aged leaves with several different seeds – makes this one extra special.

Family Blend #809

A custom-made edition that the family enjoys for their personal use. It’s never been released to the public due to the limited availability of the tobaccos used in the blend.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
