Paul Palmer-Fernandez of Casa Fernandez has confirmed the company’s plans to add a pair of new lines to their portfolio, as well as a pair of new vitolas to their existing Miami Reserva line. All will be making their debut at the upcoming IPCPR convention and trade show in Orlando in August.

The first new line to be formally unveiled is the Casa Fernandez-Miami Aganorsa Leaf Maduro Box Pressed. Available in two vitolas, 5 x 54 and 6 x 58, the cigar is described as being robust and full of flavor, thanks to a San Andrés Maduro wrapper, with 100% Aganorsa Tobacco binders and fillers that come from four of the company’s farms in two growing regions in Nicaragua. It will be available for shipment to customers attending IPCPR.

Also debuting at the show will be the new Casa Fernandez-Miami Arsenio, a 5 1/4 x 54 Corojo and Maduro that will come in 10-count boxes. While the blend remains the same as the current Arsenio line, the production moves to the company’s new factory in Miami. Production will be overseen by the company’s Cuban Maestro Cigar Roller and his hand-picked group of expert tabaqueros.

The Casa Fernandez-Miami Reserva line will have two new vitolas introduced at the show, a 5 1/4 x 52 and 6 x 60, both available in 15-count boxes. The blend of Medio Tiempo, viso and regular ligero from Aganorsa Tobacco farms in the Jalapa, Condega and Esteli valleys of Nicaragua will remain the same, but the new vitolas will give more options in which to experience this cigar.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
