2013 BOTL™ Corona Coming in October
The 2013 BOTL™ Corona Gorda by Drew Estate sold out in approximately 200 minutes when it went on sale back in June. Due to the extreme demand, BOTL.org’s administrative team has arranged a second release from Drew Estate for 2013, a 5 1/4 x 42 Corona. It will be the third BOTL™ cigar released this year.
Like the 2012 BOTL™ Lancero and 2013 BOTL™ Corona Gorda, the cigars are being made at Drew Estate’s Nicaragua factory and feature a Broadleaf wrapper, Ecuadoran Connecticut binder and Nicaraguan filler. The Corona Gorda version was described as a medium-full bodied cigar with hints of spice, sweetness, cedar, and espresso and chocolate.
Production will be limited to 5,000 cigars, divided among 300 boxes of 15 cigars. Donors to BOTL™ will receive an e-mail notification prior to the day the first 200 boxes go on sale, while an additional 100 boxes will be put on sale to the public in early October once the pre-orders have begun shipping. Price is still to be announced, but the cigars will be available for pre-order next week on PodmanCigars.com with shipping slated to begin in early October. The 2013 BOTL™ Corona Gorda sold for $180.oo for a box of 15 cigars, while the 2012 Lancero sold for $194.25 per box, with per cigar prices of $12.00 and $12.95, respectively.
This will be the fifth BOTL.org release, beginning with the 6 x 46 Pinar del Río BOTL.org Small Batch 2010. In 2012, production moved to Drew Estate with the Drew Estate BOTL.org 2012 Lancero and the Drew Estate BOTL.org 2013 Corona Gorda. In May 2013, it was announced that the Pinar del Río release would be returning for a 2013 edition with the blend and size staying the same as in the original release.
