The second cigar in Habanos S.A.’s new Añejados program has begun shipping.

Retailers in the U.K. took delivery of the Montecristo Churchill Añejados in late January. The 7 x 47 (178mm) churchill is part of the Añejados program, cigars that are aged by Habanos S.A. for five to eight years before being released. Habanos S.A. announced the two cigars as part of the debut release, the other being the Romeo y Julieta Pirámides, which shipped earlier this year.

A representative from Hunters & Frankau, the U.K. importer for Habanos S.A., told halfwheel suggested pricing in the U.K. is £27 ($40.68) per cigar, or £645.20 ($972.09) per box of 25. Pricing in the Swiss market, which is said to receive the cigars on Friday, has been set at CHF 660 ($716.50) per box. In addition, multiple German retailers have stated they expect to have the cigars on Friday.

The Añejados program actually saw a debut of sorts in late 2011, when aged cigars were released at the 21st Encuentro de Amigos de Partagás. However, the cigars were limited to the event and not offered to retailers globally.

Habanos S.A. has not indicated if, or what, a subsequent release for the program will be.
