Last year, Altadis U.S.A. released the Grupo de Maestros Private Batch, a Montecristo-branded cigar that focused on the Grupo de Maestros, a group of cigar masters that lead the Tabacalera de García factory in La Romana, Dominican Republic.

Now they’re back.

This summer Altadis U.S.A. will launch the Montecristo Artisan Series. Unlike the Grupo de Maestros Private Batch, a single cigar created by the group, the Artisan Series will see each member of the Grupo de Maestro create their own cigar.

“We are excited to announce the upcoming Montecristo Artisan Series,” said an Altadis U.S.A. press release. “These premium-crafted cigars will be blended by our Grupo De Maestros and rolled by a dedicated team of skilled rollers under the Maestro’s guidance. What adult cigar enthusiasts will find unique about this project is that each blend of cigar will reflect the persona of each Maestro.”

The first of these releases is expected this summer.
