Today we will be taking a look at a very exclusive cigar only sold at the Davidoff New York City stores, the Litto Gomez Diez Galego! This cigar is quite special in that it’s the ONLY exclusive Litto Gomez Diez cigar made today. For those of you a little unfamiliar with the LG line of cigars here is a bit of info.
The Litto Gomez Diez line was introduced in 2003, and since then has become a favorite among cigars smokers. Once you see them and smoke them you will know why. There are currently 7 standard vitolas in this line, and they all consist of tobacco grown on Litto’s farm in the Dominican Republic. Anyone who knows tobacco knows that it’s not easy to grow shade grown wrapper in the Dominican Republic, but Litto has seemed to master it, as evidenced by how his cigars smoke, and how they rate in reviews around the web. His Chisel shape cigar in the line is extremely innovative when it was first released to the cigar world and has since been one of his most sought after cigars.
I must admit I am quite late in getting this review up and being that LG is among my all time favorite lines I am a bit embarrassed for putting this review out so late but trust me it’s better late than never. This is one hell of a cigar coming in at a whopping 6 x 60. First released last year around February 2010 this cigar has done very well and has been a staple at the Davidoff New York City shops. While made in limited quanities these are produced every year as to keep up with litto’s vintages. Currently there are 2 Davidoff Shops in NYC that offer a friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff and they are located at.

Obviously when you look at this cigar you can’t help but be amazed at the sheer size of it. It looks absolutely stunning. It has a beautiful milk chocolate wrapper with a really nice red shade to it. The cigar is firmly packed and has an absolutely seamless look to it looking like one uniform leaf with a nice triple cap and a flat head.
The cigar reeks of spice with loads of cinnamon and nutmeg, coffee, chocolate; simply a ton of aromas going on making my senses go crazy! The pre-light draw reveals a solid cedar profile with hints of chocolate and spice.
Starting off in the first third I get a lot of cedar and spice as well as some dark chocolate and notes of coffee here and there. After a few puffs the spice settles down a lot and reveals a very mellow profile. The finish is nice and long and starts with a little bit of spice on the tongue and ends with a dark chocolate and wood.
Coming into the second third the cigar opens up nicely! I start to get a lot of that cinnamon and nutmeg from the pre-light and the dark chocolate and coffee ramp up. Immediately it reminds me of a Mocha Latte I use to get at my favorite coffee shop but with a nice touch of cinnamon spice that reminds me of Christmas time. There is still a solid woody note in the background, almost oak like that is a nice foundation for all that is going on flavor wise. The draw is perfect and the ash is absolutely amazing. It’s holding very strong and when it does fall off I can pretty much pick it up and hold it; very impressive construction.
Finishing up in the final third the cigar changes up a bit, the cinnamon spice that I have experienced thus far has faded but there is a pepper note on the finish now. The Coffee and dark chocolate are still present in full force as well as a very prominent leathery flavor. The flavors are well balanced, you get a nice burst of coffee and dark chocolate at the beginning of the draw, on the palate you get a thick textured cream and coffee combination and the finish is very long with a nice leathery, wood and pepper mix. A very nice cigar and despite the size was easy to nub!
- This was a fabulous cigar and had excellent Litto Gomez Diez style flavors. While the 6 x 60 vitola is not my personal choice I could definitely see smoking these when I had the time because it’s everything great about LG cigars but MORE of it!
- The construction was just bar none the best you can get. The draw was absolutely perfect and the burn stayed RAZOR sharp the entire time. When the ash did fall off it hit the ground but did not even break its form. You could pick it up and juggle with it for god’s sake. I can’t say I experience that too often.
- These cigars are ONLY available at the New York City Davidoff shops and if you want some please call 212-751-9060 or 212-823-6383 and they will happily take you order. And tell them we sent you.
- Final smoking time was just under 2 hours.
The Bottom Line: Like I said in the notes, this cigar was everything you have come to love about LG cigars just more of it! It’s a massive cigar you so need some time to smoke through the thing but it manages to stay interesting and it doesn’t bore and that’s important when you dedicate that much time to a cigar. I personally love LG cigars so I would really enjoy a box of these to put away because while they are fabulous now I find that LG cigars age wonderfully and will surely be even better in years to come!
