Legacy Brands by Victor Vitale is adding a second vitola to its Tortuga 215 Reserva Cedro line that will be in retailers hands by the end of the month.

The 6 1/8 x 52 belicoso will retail for $8.69 and come in boxes of 36. It is the second of three sizes to be released under the Cedro moniker.  The first vitola in the Cedro line was the No. 5 that was released in December of 2013, and all three sizes are distinguished by the fact that they are round as opposed to box-pressed like the rest of the Reserva line, as well as the addition of a cedar wrap on each cigar.

In addition to the Cedro Belicoso, there are a total of five vitolas in the Tortuga 215 Reserva line:  the Cedro No.5, the 5 x 54 Alma, the 7 1/2 x 58 Diplomatico, the 6 x 58 Tributo and the 6 x 60 Triunfo. The Nicaraguan puro is rolled at the Tabacalera Aguilar factory in Honduras and the 215 in the name is in reference to the zip code of Vitale’s native Philadelphia.

Vitale told halfwheel that the Tortuga 215 Reserva Cedro Belicoso will be limited to just 500 boxes in the first batch, with more available as demand dictates. Details on the third and final vitola in the Cedro line have not been finalized as of yet.

I have been smoking cigars for over eight years. A documentary wedding photographer by trade, I spent seven years as a photojournalist for the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star Telegram. I started the cigar blog SmokingStogie in 2008 after realizing that there was a need for a cigar blog with better photographs and more in-depth information about each release. SmokingStogie quickly became one of the more influential cigar blogs on the internet, known for reviewing preproduction, prerelease, rare, extremely hard-to-find and expensive cigars. I am a co-founder of halfwheel and now serve as an editor for halfwheel.
