The newest creation from La Sirena started shipping to retailers earlier this week and has already begun showing up on store shelves. Oceano by La Sirena is being made at the Quesada factory in the Dominican Republic, using a Dominican Habano vuelta arriba wrapper, Dominican criollo binder and Dominican criollo and Nicaraguan fillers.

Oceano by La Sirena is offered in five vitolas: Arctic (4 3/4 x 38/58/44), Southern (5 x 43), Indian 5 1/2 x 50), Atlantic (7 x 52) and Pacific (6 x 65). Pricing is set between $8.50 and $11. The Arctic vitola is a limited production vitola, with just 500 boxes of 20 being produced, while the other four sizes are ongoing production.

The line was announced in mid-July, just prior to the 2014 IPCPR Convention and Trade Show.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
