Kristoff Cigars has released a new limited edition store exclusive in celebration of the 25th anniversary of Queensbury Cigar & Pipe in Queensbury, N.Y., the aptly named QCP 25.

The cigar is a 5 1/2 x 54 robusto that uses an Ecuadorian habano wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Dominican filler. It is priced at $12 per cigar and comes in boxes of 10 cigars, with 200 boxes of cigars produced.

“Queensbury Cigar & Pipe means a lot to me and Kristoff,” said Jarrid Trudeau, vp of national sales for Kristoff. “They’re friends, partners, and their customers have become some of my favorite in the business,” he added, citing how Kathy Kelly started a coffee shop 25 years ago that had a cigar humidor in it, and grew it into a successful premium cigar shop with a growing online business.

“We wanted to make a cigar that all our customers could enjoy” said Kelly, owner of Queensbury Cigar & Pipe, via a press release. “This has been an awesome collaboration effort between Kristoff owner Glen Case, QCP cigar manager Dan Davison, and the QCP customers who all participated in tastings to find the right blend that was balanced and rich in flavor.”

Trudeau also mentioned knowing Dan Davison, the store’s general manager, for several years dating back to his days as a part-time tobacconist in Rhode Island.

“Seeing how far they’ve both come has been amazing and we are so excited to get the opportunity to make the QCP 25 to celebrate their anniversary.”

The cigar was released on Aug. 17 and is available both in-store and online.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
