Cypress Group Miami will now handle sales and marketing for J. Fuego Cigar Co. The new company is headed by Joseph Bravo, J. Fuego’s former national sales director; Berta Bravo, owner of The Guayabera Lady, and James Thomas, a friend of the Bravo family.

The decision was made so that Jesus Fuego can spend more time at the company’s Estelí-based factory, which opened last year.

“With our new 20,000-square-foot factory in Nicaragua, I believe my focus should be in blending, producing and quality control while my father Jose Fuego will keep the factory supplied with the best tobaccos,” said Fuego in a press release.

The Cypress Group Miami will oversee the company’s sales efforts for the U.S. and international markets. Joseph Bravo told halfwheel the company will keep some of its current independent sales representatives and looks to hire additional brokers for territories where J. Fuego is not represented.

In addition, Cypress Group Miami has built a website that it will use to help assist retailers. It is not open to consumers.

While Cypress Group Miami is handling the sales, the cigars will be stored and shipped out of the existing J. Fuego facility.
