Powstanie has a couple of new releases, and an interesting non-cigar item this year as well.

While the other brands that Pospiech Inc. distributes were there in the booth along with a new size from Powstanie – it was a beer bottle on the shelf that drew my eye. Once again, Pospiech was in the RoMa Craft Tobac booth, whose Fabrica de Tabacos NicaSueño S.A. is responsible for producing Powstanie and most the other cigars in the booth.

Dziadek Imperial Stout
Powstanie got together with Hourglass Brewing—a local brewery just a short distance away from their shop Cigar Hustler—and brewed a special beer that was made to pair with the Powstanie Habano blend.

Named after the Powstanie owner’s grandfather who fought in the Polish resistance during World War II, it’s a limited run of 5,000 gallons that will be split evenly between bottles and kegs. Currently it’s only available at the Cigar Hustler store or the Hourglass brewery, but should be available on craftbeerhustler.com in the next month or so.

I have been smoking cigars since 2005 and reviewing them as a hobby since 2010. Initially, I started out small with a 50-count humidor and only smoking one or two cigars a month. Not knowing anybody else that smoked cigars, it was only an occasional hobby that I took part in. In March of 2010, I joined Nublive and Cigar Asylum, connecting me with many people who also shared an interest in cigars. Reading what they had to say about brands I had never heard of, I quickly immersed myself in the boutique brands of the industry and it was then that cigars transformed from a hobby into a passion.
