This is La Sonrisa Cigar’s first trade show, and they certainly had a polish and selection of a company that was at least a couple of trade shows in.

The booth was a decent size, had a nice display, and plenty of product to show off. While all of their blends have been previously available on the market, the trade show was the first time that they were being sold as a wide release.

La Sonrisa Cigars Charlotte
The Charlotte is the milder of the three blends they offer, with a Connecticut wrapper and smaller sizes that are always refreshing to see from a new company. One thing you might notice below is all the sizes are the same length, only changing the ring gauge – certainly not something you see every day.

  • Wrapper: Ecuadorian Connecticut
  • Binder: Indonesian Sumatra
  • Filler: Indonesia & Nicaragua
  • Charlotte No. 1 (5 x 38) — $6.75 (Boxes of 3, $20; Boxes of 10, $67.50; Boxes of 20, $130; Bundles of 25, $160
  • Charlotte No. 2 (5 x 44) — $7.25 (Boxes of 3, $21.50; Boxes of 10, $72.50; Boxes of 20, $140; Bundles of 25, $170)
  • Charlotte No. 3 (5 x 50) — $7.75 (Boxes of 3, $23.50; Boxes of 10, $77.50; Boxes of 20, $150; Bundles of 25, $180)

Launch Date: July 2017

La Sonrisa Cigars Wally
The Wally is their medium bodied offering, still using a Connecticut wrapper, but comes in variety of sizes. These too come in a number of different size boxes, but starting in a box of four instead of three like the Charlotte.

  • Wrapper: Ecuadorian Connecticut
  • Binder: Indonesian Sumatra
  • Filler: Nicaragua
  • Wally No. 1 (7 x 50) — $8.95 (Boxes of 4, $36; Boxes of 10, $89.50; Boxes of 20, $175; Bundles of 25, $210)
  • Wally No. 2 (6 x 52) — $8.50 (Boxes of 4, $33.50; Boxes of 10, $85; Boxes of 20, $165; Bundles of 25, $200)

I have been smoking cigars since 2005 and reviewing them as a hobby since 2010. Initially, I started out small with a 50-count humidor and only smoking one or two cigars a month. Not knowing anybody else that smoked cigars, it was only an occasional hobby that I took part in. In March of 2010, I joined Nublive and Cigar Asylum, connecting me with many people who also shared an interest in cigars. Reading what they had to say about brands I had never heard of, I quickly immersed myself in the boutique brands of the industry and it was then that cigars transformed from a hobby into a passion.
