Normally Crowned Heads releases one new regular production line at the trade show, this year, there is two. Only one is not entirely new. Last year, the company attempted to quietly ship a handful of retailers a box each of its upcoming Las Mareas line. It followed this up with another soft launch, this time a lot more retailers but only two of the four sizes. While the day has come, all four sizes of Las Mareas, along with another new line, are on their way to stores.

Crowned Heads Booth IPCPR 2016

The Crowned Heads booth looks quite familiar. There’s still a truck pack trunk case—full of samples and on wheels in case you wanted to do some voluntary rearranging—along with furniture from the company’s Nashville office and a large picture of the man in black.

La Cosa Nica Sampler

Las Mareas

The new line gets it’s official full release. The Nicaraguan puro from the Garcías was allegedly made to taste like a Cuban cigar, and I happen to agree.

Le Careme

Le Carême

In a city full of celebrity chefs, Crowned Heads has a line named after one of the originals. As for the cigar, it’s a broadleaf offering out of Tabacalera La Alianza, the first new regular production line the company has done out of that factory since J.D. Howard Reserve
