The Global Premium Cigars booth is headed up by the charismatic and enthusiastic owner Enrique Sánchez, who was more than happy to show off some of the new 1502 cigars that were being released.
First thing is the newest addition to the 1502 Nicaragua line, a 7 x 48 churchill that will retail for $8 and come 20 to a box. Released a week and a half ago, they should be in stores any day.
Next on the list are the 1502 Black Gold, Emerald and Ruby Perfectos (6 1/8 x 50), which are offered to retailers who place orders at the show. Previously, the Perfecto was only available to 1502-branded lounges.
Lastly, and definitely the pride of the show for Sánchez, is the new 1502 XO. Only 1,502 numbered boxes of 10 cigars will be released each year, retailing at $17 a cigar. It will be a different size each year, starting with a 6 x 50 toro this year. Like the rest of the company’s lines, it’s made at Plasencia Cigars S.A. in Estelí. Unlike the rest of the lines, Sánchez isn’t disclosing any details.
Release date for these is expected to be October or November.
