There’s a much different style to the news, okay sort of… A few stories are still in paragraph form, but most will be in bullet points to try to make the whole story easier for you to read. Don’t get me wrong, I love comments – but, I never ask for them. I love hearing [...]

Dare we not break a cigar news story in the first day of the new month. La Aurora is adding a new size to its popular Serie Aniversario 107 line, a 7 x 58 monster, known as “Gran 107.” This marks the sixth addition to the line, joining the original three (Robusto, Toro, Belicoso), Corona [...]

On Tuesday, we broke the news regarding the discontinuation of the AVO 787. La Sirena, Miami Cigar & Co.’s newest release, is in Miami at the warehouse, should be at retailers in a few days. In other news from Miami Cigar & Co., the La Aurora Corojo will be released at the 2011 IPCPR show. For anyone that was at the show this past year, you’ll know it was one of the cigars featured at the booth, however packaging and branding concerns led to a decision to relaunch and release the cigar in July. It will feature new packaging and banding, but the cigar itself will be the same. La Aurora also announced that the 1495 BME Sumo Short Robusto will be making it’s U.S. debut. The NUb-style cigar has been in the European markets since early fall, and Miami Cigar & Co. has now decided to bring the cigar to the U.S. market. It’s 4 x 58 and should be available in a few packaging options, including boxes of five. In other large ring gauge news, the Cain F NUb is also shipping this week, the post from when we originally broke the story now has price points for the two sizes. In other Oliva/Studio Tobac news, rumor has it the Studio Tobac tour will start on el niño diablo’s birthday.

Screw top ten lists… Okay, maybe not. My list will be out at some point for all four of you that care, but in the mean time, the important one. Without a doubt, 2010 has been an interesting time for cigars and 2011 has the potential to be even more interesting. Disclaimers: These aren’t in [...]

Apologies for the lack of reviews recently, things have been hectic, but normalcy should return this week. As a few of you know, I was in Atlanta this past week for Buckhead Cigar Club’s Tweet-Up. One half of Tiki Bar Online and Stogie Review were represented, along with a few of the more popular cigar [...]

December 8, 2010 — MIAMI FL – Miami Cigar & Company, the exclusive U.S. distributor for La Aurora, announces help is on the way for New York. Tobacconists are suffering under harsh tobacco tax of 75% of wholesale cost which prices many cigars out of the average smoker’s reach. La Aurora vice president Guillermo León says it is time for action to help smokers. As a result, León and Miami Cigar and Company President Nestor Miranda are releasing a special Broadway Series by La Aurora with a suggested retail price of $12.25 including the onerous NY state tobacco tax.

Last week when I said Sam Leccia would not be the last one to leave a brand before the end of the year, Tim Ozgener wasn’t the one that came to mind. After the jump, the press release and statement regarding why TIm decided to leave CAO. The other news that came with the Sam [...]

Before you read this next post, you should understand I try my best. I try my best to find flavor nuances, I try my best to take pictures, I try my best to research, I try my best to describe cigars. In some ways it’s rather idiotic – as it’s all subjective. My palate is [...]

A pretty impressive cigar auction will be taking place in London at the end of November, items include items from Hemingway and a Fidel Castro humidor. Speaking of Cuba, the Havana Times had a look at the Cohiba Cigar factory. Habanos S.A. launched the H.Upmann Noellas Glass Jar. Outside of that forbidden island, it’s been [...]
