IPCPR 2010: Augusto Reyes & Erez Cigars

Also a Day One gem… I stopped by the booth after some Twitter persistence from Nirka Reyes. Augusto introduced a couple of new lines, but I spent most time talking to Yaniv Erez, the man behind Erez cigars. The booth took home the award for best new small booth, or something along those lines.

IPCPR 2010: Tatuaje

Tatuaje-IPCPR-2010-4.png

Tatuaje’s IPCPR releases were announced a bit early, all but one at least. Following the release of the 2008 rendition of the La Vérité, Pete’s IPCPR showing was mainly extensions. The one exception was the Face, his planned Monster release for Halloween. There will be a lot of changes to the manner that he does limited releases, [...]

IPCPR 2010: Illusione

Illusione-IPCPR-2010-3.png

After nearly causing me to go deaf the night before, Dion Giolito took me around the Illusione booth to go over the new releases and extensions. The Singulare is the new line, a limited 2010 release. The white bands made it impossible to photograph in the convention hall, but I tried my best. Extensions to [...]

IPCPR 2010: Toraño Family Cigars

Toraño-IPCPR-2010-6.png

I am not really sure how this slipped through the cracks on Tuesday, but Toraño Family Cigars probably brought the most new stuff to New Orleans for a lot of different reasons. The company itself was entirely new, after Charlie Toraño decided to break off from CAO and not become another fish in the pond [...]

IPCPR 2010: Gran Habano

IPCPR-2010-Gran-Habano-3.png

Gran Habano had the largest cigar of the show, but I think we already knew that going in. The Azteca was what drove all the new excitement, and word on the street is that it’s one hell of a cigar. My discussion at the booth probably can’t be repeated entirely, but there should be more [...]

IPCPR 2010: Habana Cuba Cigar Co.

Habana Cuba Cigar Co. (makers of Oliveros) launched a host of new products, including SWAG, an entirely new line. (It’s a Dominican puro made only from Ligero from the same farm co-owned by company head Rafael Nodal and Litto Gomez) That being said, I spent most of time at the booth with larger than life [...]

IPCPR 2010: Drew Estate

Drew-Estate-IPCPR-2010-6.png

Without a doubt, Drew Estate had the most talked about booth, if only because of the shoes. There were some new releases worth mentioning: T52 Flying Pig and Dirty Rat for the Liga Privada line. The partnership with Dion Giolito of Illusione led to a sold out Nosotros line that was featured in both booths. [...]

IPCPR 2010: The Pictures

The best way to describe what took place….

IPCPR 2010: Colibri

Colibri-IPCPR-2010-5.png

I had a chance to talk with the makers of my beloved Colibri Boss II. They (Colibri) added one new lighter and basically just took the approach of improving on their already huge line-up, including a partnership with Rocky Patel.

IPCPR 2010: La Aurora & Miami Cigar & Co.

La-Aurora-Miami-Cigar-Co.-3.png

It was a busy day for the folks at Miami Cigar & Co. as they unveiled their newest creations at IPCPR. While I haven’t spoken to Guillermo about my beloved La Aurora 107 Lancero, there was still quite a few new releases, including: La Aurora Corojo Nestor Miranda Art Deco Guillermo León by La Aurora [...]

The winner of the five-pack of Flor de las Antillas Lanceros has been announced.
