Building on last year’s release of the Heritage Collection, Gurkha will be unveiling a maduro version at the 2016 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show that kicks off on July 25.

For the Heritage Collection Maduro, the company is using a Mexican San Andrés wrapper with a Brazilian Arapiraca binder and fillers from Brazil and Nicaragua.

It will come in three sizes, a Robusto (5 x 55, $7.99), Toro (6 1/2 x 52, $8.99) and a new Robusto Corto, which measures 4 1/2 x 48 and is priced at just $5, which  is also being added to the original Heritage line.

American Caribbean Tobacco S.A. in Estelí, Nicaragua is once again handling the production, with all three sizes packaged in 24-count boxes, a departure from the 35-count boxes that the Heritage Collection debuted in. Both versions now come in the smaller format.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
