General & Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Jr. Team Up for La Gloria Cubana Colección Reserva

Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Jr. is making a La Gloria Cubana again.

At next month’s IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, General Cigar Co. will show off the La Gloria Cubana Colección Reserva, a new regular production line made by Perez-Carrillo Jr at his Tabacalera La Alianza S.A. factory.

It’s a return to roots for Perez-Carrillo Jr. whose family owned and made the brand from 1972 until 1999, when Swedish Match, who then-owned General, purchased the family’s operation. Perez-Carrillo Jr. worked for General until 2009 before leaving to start his own factory and brand, E.P. Carrillo.

Now he’s making the La Gloria Cubana Colección Reserva, a three-size line using an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers according to Cigar Insider.

It will be offered in three sizes.

• La Gloria Cubana Colección Reserva Robusto (5 x 54)
• La Gloria Cubana Colección Reserva Torpedo (6 x 54)
• La Gloria Cubana Colección Reserva Presidente (7 1/2 x 54)

The cigars will be sold by General Cigar Co.

This is the second time that Perez-Carrillo Jr. has worked with his former company. The duo created Re+United a few years ago, although that was a limited edition item.
