Arturo Fuente cigars will now be sold by the Arturo Fuente Cigar Co.

Effective Monday, Fuente & Newman Premium Cigars Limited will become the Arturo Fuente Cigar Co. In a letter, Carlos “Carlito” Fuente Jr. stressed that only the company’s name is changing.

“When my grandfather founded our family business in 1912, he called it the Arturo Fuente Cigar Company,” said Fuente Jr. “I am very pleased that Arturo Fuente cigars will once again be sold in the United States by a company bearing our original name.”

The two families have a unique partnership. Both companies are separate family-owned businesses, but they work together in a few areas. Fuente manufacturers many of J.C. Newman’s cigars, though the Newmans have factories in Nicaragua and Tampa. The two companies share a booth at the IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, and the two entities created the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation (CFCF) to raise funds for a school build near the Fuente factory in Bonao, Dominican Republic.

They also have the joint distribution company. The company was originally founded as FANCO in 1990 before changing its name in 1995.

“I am very proud of the longstanding partnership between both our century-old cigar families,” said Eric Newman. “We look forward to strengthening the Arturo Fuente brand in the United States and continuing to provide superior service and support to premium cigar retailers across the country.”
