Emilio Cigars has announced that Spencer McGuire has been hired as the company’s new brand manager. The announcement came via a Facebook post on Tuesday morning.

“Spencer is a new face to most in this industry, but he has been working behind the scenes for a while,” said brand owner Scott Zucca in a press release. “After meeting him and getting to know him, I knew he was the person to bring Emilio Cigars into the future.”

“I’m honored to be a part of the Emilio Cigars family. The cigars speak for themselves; each one is awesome,” added McGuire. “I look forward to being a part of the evolution of the Emilio brand. It’s going to be great to get out there, meet the folks and continue to tell the Emilio Cigars story.”

McGuire will begin immediately with an extensive travel and event schedule across the United States. He fills a role left vacated by Gary Griffith, who left the company on May 1.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
