E.P. Carrillo has begun putting out teasers for its new project, La Historia, which is scheduled to debut sometime this summer.

A picture of the new cigar was posted to the company’s Twitter account on March 20 by Ernesto Perez-Carrillo, Jr. himself, who noted in the Tweet that the cigar uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper.

If the cigar does in fact debut in August, it would follow closely on the heels of the new Perez-Carrillo line, which has been changed from a May or June launch to sometime between June and July. Bob Moreno, the company’s vice-president of sales, said that the blend is still aging but is close to the final product. There are four sizes scheduled to be included in the line’s launch, though Moreno didn’t indicate what they are.

If the releases stay on schedule, it would give the company a pair of prominent new products to feature at the 2014 IPCPR Convention and Trade Show, being held July 19-23 in Las Vegas.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
