Camacho will be getting a new factory.

Oettinger Davidoff AG announced today that it has acquired 450,000-square-feet of land in Danlí, Honduras that will eventually serve as the new home of the Camacho, Room101 and Baccarat brands. The first phase of the new factory will be 185,000-square-feet, adding 60 percent more production to the current output of Agroindustria LAEPE S.A., the company’s current Honduras factory. The new space is near the company’s box factory.

In addition, Davidoff announced the acquisition of farm land in Condega, Nicaragua.

“Our acquisition of over 150 hectares of land in Condega, Nicaragua, and in Jamastrán, Honduras, represents a further strengthening of our crop-to-shop philosophy, which is an anchor of our global strategy,” said Hans-Kristian Hoejsgaard, ceo of Oettinger Davidoff AG, in a press release. “I am equally delighted that a splendid new Camacho (Agroindustrias Laepe) factory designed by Honduran architect Gonzalo Núñez Díaz and including expansive visitor accommodation will underpin the growth trajectory of the Camacho, Room101 and Baccarat brands.”

Davidoff did not indicate when construction would begin on the new Honduran factory, but it did say that the current Agroindustria LAEPE S.A. factory, which has been 175-200 pairs of rollers, will eventually be closed.

The new complex will not only host a production area, but it will also be responsible for tobacco storage, preproduction and host a visitors areas for guests to stay.

Agroindustria LAEPE S.A. was originally known as Rancho Jamastran. Davidoff changed the name after restructuring the factory as part of the larger Camacho relaunch in 2013. It currently produces Camacho, Baccarat, Room101, Ditka, B.G. Meyer Co. and other brands.
