Davidoff of Geneva USA has announced ACCESS, a new program that promises access to rare cigars, personalization of cigars and cigar boxes, priority access to events at retail stores, and more.

The company revealed the program in an email sent to consumers on Nov. 6, though it was a soft launch to the program and no formal announcement or comment from the company was available. Yesterday, Davidoff sent out another email announcing the first cigars to be released in program: re-release of 2013’s Year of the Snake, the first of the Zodiac Series, on Nov. 24; the Davidoff Robusto 100th Anniversary on Dec. 8; and the Davidoff Diademas 100th Anniversary on Dec. 22.

Richard Krutick, head of marketing for Davidoff, told halfwheel that the program is still in its soft launch phase, with a full rollout set for January. The program consists of three key components: the vault, personalization, and experience.

One of the most appealing aspects of the program for fans of the Davidoff brand will be what is heralded as being able to be “the first to access our private vault filled with factory reserves, vintage classics, private and rare collections.”

Members of the ACCESS Program will get first crack at the release of vintage products, rare finds, and private collections from the company’s archives. Krutick said that the company has plans to bring back some of its “holy grails in very very limited quantities,” and expects same-day sellouts of many of the release. Additionally, cigars that have never been in the market or which consumers haven’t heard of will also be offered. “They will be true collectors items for any passionate cigar collector,” he said.

The company will also be offering personalization services on products ordered through its website. Boxes will be able to be personalized via the addition of a engraved plaque to the front of a cigar box, custom foot bands for individual cigars, as well as engraving on cigar accessories and writing instruments.

For those who live near or regularly visit Davidoff of Geneva — since 1911 retail locations, the ACCESS program is offering exclusive locker memberships, priority reservations, and access to exclusive events, such as a curated cigar tastings, expert pairings, or appearances by notable individuals associated with the brand, such as Randolph Churchill, the great-grandson of Sir Winston Churchill.

Consumers interested in the ACCESS program can register online or at Davidoff of Geneva — since 1911 stores. More information about the program is scheduled to be announced in January.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
