Colibri has announced its newest premium cigar accessory, the Colibri Boss, triple flame lighter with a swing-out, double guillotine cigar cutter that the company is billing as the first such design in the world.

Colibri Boss on White

The Colibri Boss builds on the Colibri Astoria, which was released earlier in 2015, with the most noticeable upgrade on the unit’s cutter. The dual blade guillotine swings out along the lighter’s longer side as opposed to the narrower side as was the case on the Astoria.

The lighter portion is a triple flame in a pyramidal configuration that the company creates a “robust wall of fire for an effortless light.” Sizable air vents create an increased air flow to help the premixing of air and fuel within the burner and helps the lighter perform at higher altitudes. The Boss also features Colibri’s signature “blue illusion” fuel window, something the company pioneered in the early 2000s.

Angles and chamfers in the body design offer both a visual appeal and a more ergonomic shape for secure handling.

The Colibri Boss will be in stores in November with a suggested retail price of $150. It will be available in four finishes: metallic black with matte black, metallic silver with matte black, brilliant red with matte black and brilliant blue with matte black.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
