There’s another new v-cutter.

Colibri Group’s Firebird brand has begun shipping the new Viper V-Cut cigar cutter, a new value-priced v-cut cutter. Like Colibri’s popular V-Cut cutter, the Viper features a reverse blade, meaning the edges of the cutter are the first part of the blade to touch the cigars. Traditionally, the middle part of v-cut blades would be the first to touch a cigar. The design has become popular in order to help reduce cracking and tearing of cigars.

In addition, the opening on the cutter is 15/16 inches in diameter, or 60 ring gauge.

The big differences between the Firebird Viper and the more premium Colibri V-Cut are that this cutter has a keychain loop and it is priced at $9.99. The Colibri V-Cut retails for $40.

Three colors are offered—black, blue and green—all in a rubberized matte finish.
