Chinnock Cellars Rebrands XOXO as T.L.P., Announces Second Production

Last year, Chinnock Cellars released XOXO, an extremely limited edition of 500 cigars with leaves that had been hand-sprayed with premium cognac by Sandy Cobas at El Titan de Bronze in Miami.

This year, the cigar will return but with a different name, as it is now called the Chinnock Cellars T.L.P., named for Brian Chinnock’s wife, Terry Lynn Paiva, who passed away due to diabetes on February 27.

Chinnock is using the release not only to honor his wife, but to raise funds for the American Diabetes Association (ADA). All of the proceeds from the 1,000 cigars being produced will go to ADA, while each cigar shop will contribute one dollar to the charity, with that donation included in the purchase price.

“Our goal is to raise $25,000 to be directly donated to ADA to help find a cure for this terrible disease,” Chinnock told halfwheel.

Like the XOXO, the T.L.P. is a 6 x 52 vitola with a blend that draws from the company’s Cremoir and Terroir lines. Each cigar comes in a glass tube that is then packed into five-count piano finish boxes, with all 200 boxes being produced by a single roller at El Titan de Bronze. MSRP is $150 per box, before taxes.

Chinnock will release the T.L.P. at the 2016 IPCPR Convention and Trade Show in July, and the cigar will only be available during the trade show. He said he expects to begin shipping them to retailers in August.
