Another future product from Davidoff of Geneva USA has shown up at a retailer well before the company plans to formally market the cigar.

This time, it’s the Camacho Liberty 2017.

Like the AVO Syncro South America before it, the product was likely shipped to a few retailers before Aug. 8 in order to meet requirements set by the new regulations from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA).

Any new cigar released after Aug. 8 would be subject to pre-approval from FDA, which would prevent companies from selling the cigars until they were granted such approval. As such, many companies shipped a variety of new products to retailers in very small quantities prior to Aug. 8 in order to avoid the pre-approval requirements in the future.

Dylan Austin, vp of marketing for Davidoff of Geneva USA, declined to comment on the Liberty 2017.

The Camacho Liberty is an annual release, typically released in the summer ahead of the July 4th holiday. It is normally offered in only one size with each cigar packed in coffins.
