Fans of the lancero vitola have another new one to try.

Caldwell Cigar Co. has added the Midnight Express Sabotage Lancero, a 7 1/2 x 42 take on the company’s Midnight Express blend, the maduro version of the Eastern Standard line. Midnight Express, which debuted about a year ago in “PRE PRE PRERELEASE” form and then later in the year as a new line for the company.

Robert Caldwell told halfwheel the Sabotage Lancero was released at the 2016 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, which took place in July, and that the company is beginning to increase production. Another 100 boxes went out this month and “a bit more” are shipping to stores next week.

Suggested retail pricing is $11 per cigar.

The Midnight Express blend combines the Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers from the Eastern Standard line with the Connecticut-seed Arapiraca maduro the company originally used on The Last Tsar.
