Once again, La Aurora has been tapped to create an anniversary cigar for Washington D.C.-based W. Curtis Draper.

This year the retailer is celebrating its 128th anniversary and the cigar will be a take on the Dominican manufacturer’s Untamed blend. The La Aurora W. Curtis Draper 128th Aniversario measures is a box-pressed 5 1/2 x 54 version of the Untamed, which was introduced last year.

That means the cigar will use a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper, Dominican corojo binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. It is will be sold in boxes of 10, which are limited to 150 units. Suggested pricing is $9.50. The cigar will likely retail for that price at the retailer’s Washington D.C. location, while it will be a bit higher at the Bethesda store. There is no cigar tax in the District of Columbia, whereas there is one in the state of Maryland.

Manuel Inoa, La Aurora’s master blender, and Jason Wood, vp of Miami Cigar & Co. will be on hand for events this week. On Friday, the pair will be at the Washington D.C. location and they had to Bethesda, Md. on Saturday. Miami Cigar & Co. is the U.S. distributor for La Aurora.

La Aurora has made anniversary cigars for W. Curtis Draper’s 120th, 122nd, 123rd 124th, 125th, 126th and 127th anniversaries.
